They are frequently used in satellite and terrestrial communications equipment.健保署宣布今年1月開始，新增兒童癌症質子治療給付，由於質子治療副作用很低，治療成功率又相對較高，是對癌症病童的一大福音。依據目前兒童癌症治療仍是非常棘手的療程，重點費用昂貴，且以光子治療為主，但副作用較大，若病灶位在視神經或者是脊椎，病童在治療後恐怕會發生長不高、視力受損等症狀，如果是中樞神經系統腫瘤的話，也可能會造成腫瘤後方的脊椎或是腦幹組織受到的損傷，造成肢體不便，病痛恐跟著一輩子。因此台灣放射腫瘤醫學會4年前開始積極倡議，希望可以健保給付兒童癌症質子治療，對此健保署12日宣布，今年1月開始新增兒童癌症質子治療給付，目前給付項目的適用對象主要以未滿19歲的病人，包括像是罹患威爾姆氏腫瘤、何杰金氏淋巴瘤，還有神經母細胞腫瘤等等，主要給付低度生物等效劑量質子放射治療。由於質子治療副作用非常低，治療成功率也相對較高，對於小朋友來說是一大福音，預估每一年大約可以有100名的病童受惠，總共會挹注健保點值1億500點，而因為每一個質子治療設備造價都需要幾10億元，因此治療費用也非常昂貴，每個療程都需要上百萬，如今可以精準打擊，同時納入健保給付，也讓家長可以鬆一口氣。Coax Adapter責任編輯／張碧珊
